Shipping Requirements
Due to the security logistics involved in this type of cargo, new customers must accept the conditions and responsibilities for its transportation.
This is formalized through a document that our commercial department will share with the customer.
Among the necessary conditions for transporting valuable cargo, it is established that the cargo must be picked up with an armored truck in the authorized area next to the aircraft. Additionally, international shipments on PAX aircraft must not exceed 10 million USD.
It is essential to comply with the cargo delivery times.
Packaging Requirements
The packaging for this type of cargo must comply with the following guidelines:
- Dimensions: The package must have dimensions equal to or greater than 50 x 30 x 20 cm or an equivalent volume of 30,000 cm³.
- Outer Packaging Material: It must be made of sturdy 1-inch thick wood or a resistant metal box. Alternatively, plastic boxes may be used. Cardboard packaging will not be accepted.
- Straps and Seals: Two 1-inch wide steel straps must be applied across the width of the package and one or two straps along its length. Additionally, two numbered and properly registered seals must be placed at the intersection of the straps (see image below).
Special Cases
Canvas sacks may be authorized for the transport of legal tender banknotes, traveler’s checks, bonds, shares, coupons, stamps, bank or credit cards, raw materials for passports/identity cards, and doré metal, provided that each sack has its respective seal or security tag.
Doré Metal
Doré metal will be considered valuable cargo only if its origin is Chile, Brazil, or the U.S. Unlike other cases, it is not subject to a maximum transport amount. Its transportation can be carried out in resistant sacks mounted on a pallet or a base that distributes its weight.
Important: While this service is designed for the transportation of valuable cargo, products such as fashion jewelry, consumer electronics, mobile phones, perfumes, and luxury goods may require alternative transportation solutions.
